This work considers the possibilities of using static analysis and scanning electron microscopy techniques to determine the properties of disperse materials, i.e. corrosion resistant steel grades 12H18N9T (AISI 321) and 20H13 (AISI 420), taken into account in the selective laser melting technique.
One of the important tasks, and in many cases, the most important one, is to develop technical requirements for the powder materials employed in selective melting using electronic and laser radiation.
The dispersion (grain size) for powder materials PR20H13 and PR12H18N9T were determined using a Occhio500nano image analyzer manufactured by Occhio SA (Belgium) using the static image analysis technique in accordance with ISO 13322-1:2014 as shown in Fig. 1.

Another advantage of these structural materials is their excellent energy absorbance characteristics.
This is usually attributed to the imperfections and defects in periodic structure of the cellular materials [2-3].
