Keywords: Magnesium alloy; wrought magnesium alloy; processing technology
Abstract: This paper reviews the latest research and development status of processing technologies
for wrought magnesium alloys including extrusion, forging, (twin-roll) thin strip casting, rolling,
stamping, and superplastic forming.
Twin-roll thin strip casting of magnesium alloy Twin-roll thin strip casting is considered a promising advanced technology for wrought magnesium alloys.

From these
results, an advanced stem having high strength at the necked part can be developed for a new
artificial hip joint, keeping low Young's modulus at the distal part implanted in a femur.
Based on the obtained results we propose a fabrication method of the advanced stem as follows.
As a result, the advanced stem with high strength at the necked region and low Young's modulus at the distal region is produced with gradation of mechanical properties between both the edges.
This mechanical properties gradation is applicable to an advanced stem of an artificial hip joint, which has high strength at the necked region and low Young's modulus at the distal region.

Introduction Nowadays, steelmakers are intensively studying the ways how to produce third generation Advanced High Strength Steels (3G AHSS). 3G AHSS refers to steels with various innovative microstructures, which are developed to propose a breakthrough offer in the steel market.
Such developments require not only challenging alloying compositions with complicated microstructure designs, but also implementation of advanced annealing processes.
Engineering stress-elongation (a) and work hardening rate-true strain (b) curves of samples after complete simple and double annealing with Ts=830°C / 850°C and Tq=290°C.
