Loss Separation Model: A Tool for Improvement of Soft Magnetic Materials Marcos Flavio de Campos1,a,b 1 PUVR – Universidade Federal Fluminense Av.
Introduction The optimization of magnetic materials is one of the main strategies for improving the efficiency of electrical motors.
One of the strategies for designing better soft magnetic materials is the loss separation procedure.
There is an analogy for magnetic materials, concerning domains and domain walls.

Evolutionary Structural Optimization Using Material Efficiency Grades Xing-guo HU 1, a, He-ming CHENG 1,b 1Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, Kunming University of Science and Technology, Kunming, China, 650500 akgtumuhxg@sina.com, bchenghm@public.km.yn.cn Keywords: Evolutionary structural optimization; Structural topology optimization; Material efficiency grades; Inefficient material criterion Abstract: In the evolutionary structural optimization (ESO) using the rejection ratio, the criterion of the inefficient material removal can’t generally be lowered during the optimization process because the rejection ratio can’t be decreased.
The ESO-MEG can determine inefficient material in a structural optimization according to the efficiency grades of each part of material, so it can adjust timely and flexibly the criterion of inefficient material removal.

Animated nature has the most complex materials, devices and processes in comparison with all the inventions of mankind.
Natural materials are very cheap and abundant, their "quality" is much better than those made by man.
Modern biomimetics is largely associated with the development of new materials that copy natural ones.

It is composed of two elastic, isotropic and homogenous materials that are perfectly bonded along the interface.
The material above the interface is termed material 1 and the material below is termed material 2.
There are interfacial cracks (the crack positioned at the interface between two materials), crack embedded in material 1 (case 1) and lastly, cracks formed in the materials 2 (case 2).
Crack deflection is another important issue especially when interfacial crack appeared in dissimilar materials or structures.

The Material point method has many advantages in solving explosion/impact problems involved multiple materials in comparison with the finite element method or finite difference method, because it takes advantage of both Eulerian and Lagrangian schemes, so that mesh tangling is avoided while material variables are tracked through the complete deformation history, and no slip impact is handled automatically without any special contact algorithm [5] .

China e-mail:zw5793@163.com Keywords : 2D cutting-stock; Triangle rectangle method; utilization of raw materials.
The goal of 2D irregular cutting-stock problems is to make the remaining materials reduce to a minimum in the cutting process, making the maximum utilization of raw materials.
So we have to make them regular and improve the utilization of raw materials.
