It is found in the present study that, cast aged A356 materials possess higher wear resistance as compared to forge aged materials.
However, the forge aged materials show a different behavior.
Cast aged A356 material possesses higher wear resistance as compared to forge aged materials.
Forging improves both strength and ductility of the materials.

Through case hardening a material can be case hardened with negligible distortion.
