For difficult-to-cut materials, Nath and Rahman proposed ultrasonic-vibration-assisted machining as an efficient cutting method, to reduce the cutting force, suppress tool wear, and ensure tool life and surface quality [2].
Several researchers [3, 4] have experimentally shown that ultrasonic-vibration-assisted machining improves the machinability of several materials, such as aluminum alloys, Inconel, and composite materials.
Neugebauer et al. reported that ultrasonic-vibration-assisted cutting can extend tool life because the fracturing effect reduces the cutting force while drilling hard and brittle materials such as glass and ceramics [5].

For brittle materials such as rock and concrete, generally occurred localized damage and fracture under the impact of the ore particles or blocks, and the localized damage and fracture will seriously reduce the material strength [1].
