The first three conferences
André Michel (1909‒2000) was a professor of inorganic chemistry (chimie minérale) at Paris.
The topics of the conference, included the preparation of (new) compounds, phase equilibria, phase diagrams, calorimetry, phase transformations, X ray and neutron diffraction, structural chemistry, band structures, magnetic properties, electric conductivity, Mössbauer spectroscopy, etc.
At that time very few chemists were capable to determine crystal structures.
He is probably best known for his efforts with the systematization of crystal structures.
He found their monophosphides to crystallize with NaCl type structure.

Keywords: Hydroxylchalcone, anti-breast cancer activity, synthesis, structure elucidation.
Their structures were characterized by NMR spectra.
On the other sides, the chalcones are also important intermediates for preparing various N-heterocycles in medicinal and material chemistry [5,6].
Results and discussion 2.1 Chemistry In order to clarify the structure-activity relationship for hydroxychalcones, we decided to prepare a series of chalcones containing at least one phenolic hydroxyl group.
The further studies on the structure-activity relationship of these hydroxylchalcones and their anti-breast cancer mechanism were under way in our research group.

The prepared silver nanowires were found to exhibit face-centered cubic (fcc) structure.
The properties of nanomaterials are determined by their structures, i.e., by their dimensions, their geometry, and their crystallinity [3].
With the assistance of PVP, these large silver nanoparticles were able to grow into wire shaped structures.

The chemical composition and structure of the polymers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and molecular weight and its distribution were measured by Gel permeation chromatography (GPC).
The preparation of polymers with accurately controlled structures has become a research theme of modern polymer chemistry because properties and performances of polymers greatly depend on the kind and number of functional groups.
Results and Discussion FTIR of PMMA The chemical structure of the PMMA was studied by FT-IR spectroscope.

A proprietary Ce-bearing FeSi alloy [1.5-2.0%Ce, 0.75-1.25%Ca, 0.75-1.25%Al, 70-76%Si, Fe bal] [1] was used and compared to a commercial Ba-Ca-Al-FeSi inoculant (typical chemistry: 1.5%Ca, 1.0%Ba, 1.0%Al, 65%Si, Fe bal), both of them sized 0.2-0.7mm.
Results and discussion The solidification structure of cast iron is affected by the initial melt conditions, the base iron chemistry, inoculation practice and mould parameters.
A major redistribution of carbon atoms is required to develop a stable structure, including graphite.
A slow rate of solidification is therefore more likely to produce a grey iron structure.
Consequently, a slow cooling rate and a small value of undercooling encourages the formation of a grey structure with good machinability and effectively avoids a hard white structure [16].
