Introduction
Due to the excellent property of functionally graded materials (FGM) to withstanding high
temperature gradient environments, it is widely used in many important engineering structures, such
as aerospace, nuclear reactors and chemical plants.
Response of a functionally graded ceramic-metal plate accounting for the moderately large rotations in the Von Karman sense was studied by Praveen and Reddy [1].
The material properties P can be expressed as [9] 2 ( ) ( ) 2 n m c c h z P z P P P h − = − + (1) where the subscripts m and c denote the metallic and ceramic constituents, respectively. z is the thickness coordinate, and n being a material constant.
Results and discussions In what follows, an Aluminum and Zirconia ceramics system of functionally graded material is considered.
Huang: International Journal of Non-linear Mechanics Vol.8 (1973), p.445

Introduction
Creating lightweight structures to increase specific properties of light metal materials is a main goal in automotive and aviation engineering.
This process eliminates initial porosities occurring during the infiltration process of the ceramic wires.
