Specially selected and engineered consumables are used in this lapping step: the abrasive slurry has 9 mm diamond abrasives dispersed in an emulsion vehicle; the lapping plate is made of metal powder and resin.
Material removal rate (MRR) versus slurry dosage of engineered hybrid slurry in comparison with colloidal CMP slurry.
Summary Consumables, equipment, and process parameters become a critical combination when advanced compound semiconductor materials such as SiC need to be polished in the most efficient and economical way.
