More than 70 % of the diodes exhibited a change in the forward voltage
of less than 0.1 V and no change in the electroluminescence (EL) that could be related to the
expansion of stacking faults was observed for these diodes.
EL images taken before and after heavy injection did not show SF related contrast.

As demonstrated by Zhao et al. [11], the tensile stress in the FZ and HAZ is higher than that of the BM.

Minerals with high percentage in P2O5 (more than 30%) have been used by Ma et al., [7] and Rechert et Binner [10], but these minerals are very expensive.
Similar observations were made by Khraisheh et al., [12] using raw and modified diatomite.

Therefore, precipitates of the Al11RE3 phase (78.6 at. % of Al) are cracked, but precipitates of the Al2RE phase (66.7 at. % of Al) are not cracked.
Cracks in these phases are probably caused by the presence of aluminium, because Al-containing phases in Mg-Al alloys are strong hydrogen absorbers and act as hydrogen traps.
