The type of repair can range from filling a very localised shallow excavation, to welding deep excavations that can extend around a significant proportion of a structure.
However, the significant development of Neutron stress measurement over the past decade into a non-destructive technique that has the unique ability to determine the full 3D stress tensor deep within engineering components and structures under conditions (temperature, stress, atmosphere, etc.) representative of those which might be experienced in service has allowed, for the first time, validation of weld mock ups representative of plant welded structures.
The situation in a weld is complicated by the effects of local changes in chemistry and deformation anisotropy (elastic and plastic), which may result in local changes in the measured a0.
The former tend to over-predict and the latter to under-predict long-range residual stress levels in structures.

There is now a lively debate on the crystalline structure of BFO.
The adsorption mechanism of the Ni-BFO structure towards NO, NO2, CO, CO2, and SO2 gases was not studied using DFT simulations.
As illustrated by the band structure plot in Fig. 3, the band gap of doped BFO (010) lowers to 0.81 eV and exhibits conductivity characteristics.

Firstly, the reaction temperature showed a strong effect on the structure of the resulting g-AlOOH.
The average pore diameter of the sample obtained at 160°C (i.e., sample S-160-24) was 7.8 nm, further confirmed that this sample has a mesoporous structure.
The S-160-8 has a three-dimensional hierarchical structure with flower-like morphology as is seen in magnified SEM image (Fig. 4a).
Furthermore, the high-magnification images in d and e show that g-AlOOH particles possess porous structure which consists of cross-linked nanofibers.
The porous structure and high surface area of the resulting g-AlOOH powder provided it with an excellent ability to remove CR and fluoride from water, which suggests that the mesoporous g-AlOOH powder is promising for applications in water treatment.

An important addition to the present debate on C-S-H structure is the method.

The result indicates that, after sequent chemical modifications of aminopropyl and schiff base, the primary hexagonally ordered mesoporous structure of SBA-15 is not affected.
The hexagonally ordered mesoporous silicas exhibit many attractive characteristics such as well ordered periodic pore structure, high thermal and chemical stabilities and controllable pore diameter [7].
The TEM images in Figure 3a-f present the information of the pore channel structures of SBA-15, NH2-SBA-15 and SA-SBA-15.
After grafting of guest molecules, the cylindrical shape of the pores and their nearly perfect 2D hexagonal order are clearly visible (Figure 3c-d for the NH2-SBA-15 and Figure 3e-f for the SA-SBA-15), which indicates that the channel structure of SBA-15 is not destroyed by incorporation of APTES and salicylaldehyde, and the SA-SBA-15 sample also has a 2D (p6mm) hexagonal structure.
