The Characteristics and Preparation Process of Plate-type Catalysts Compared with honeycomb catalysts, the plate-type catalysts have some advantages as follows: (1) Have an excellent abrasion resistance, due to their skeleton structure made of stainless steel wire; (2) Have a good blocking resistance and small pressure loss, because of their big opening ratio, (3) Inhibit the reaction of SO2 into SO3, attributed to thin thickness of the plate-type catalyst wall( the SO2 oxidation reaction mainly occurs in the inner of the catalyst); (4) The preparation process of plate-type catalysts is quite easy [2].
