This paper is structured as follows: fundamental principles related to complex process chains are reviewed in the first section, followed by an examination of the interconnections between the electrode manufacturing and the cell assembly.
However, the results presented in this paper reveal that a strong collaboration of the different disciplines involved in lithium-ion cell production, such as chemistry, electrical engineering and manufacturing technology is required.
