Graphite has a typical lamellar structure which can reduce the friction force and anisotropic properties of composites due to the difference between in-plane and out-of-plane bonding of carbon atoms [12].
This is attributed to the one-dimensional structure of GR and two-dimensional structure of CF.
For GR/CF/PP composites, with the increase of CF, its two-dimensional structure is beneficial for having a stronger interaction between phases.
The facts can be attributed to the two-dimensional structure of CF and one-dimensional structure of GR.
The synergetic effects of CF and GR can promote the formation of a three-dimensional network structure which can effectively enhance the tensile strength of polymer.
