Introduction
Corrosion of steel has been established as the predominant factor causing widespread premature deterioration of concrete construction worldwide, especially for the structures located in the coastal marine environment.
On the other hand, the effect of chloride cations on steel corrosion in concrete should be also emphasised for their different behaviors changing the chemistry of the cement paste and of the pore solution and thus the passive film of steel surface [22].
