To address the quality, durability and construction challenges, the owner – the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO), and the engineering consultant – Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM) decided to utilize an innovative “bridge-out-of-a-box” solution with modular construction where almost all bridge components were pre-fabricated in controlled facilities and assembled on site using UHPFRC.
This was approached with a combination of efficient engineering design and the utilization of the advanced technology of UHPFRC.

Abstract: Loose blasting technology is applied to the problem of fully mechanized coal face passing through fault.
The presence of faults, in order to safety, needs setting up fault protection coal pillar, which increases the coal loss; on the other hand, it increases the tunneling engineering amount, which results in frequent moving of fully mechanized coal face[1]-[3].
