Figures released by the order of Engineers of Beirut & Tripoli show that construction permits issued in the first quarter of 2014 reached 3.4 million square meters, constituting an increase of 18% from the same quarter of 2013.
Likert scale ranking the importance of items Item Very important Important Medium importance Low importance Very Low importance Scale 5 4 3 2 1 Sample sizing and selection: - Consultants and contractors were selected from the listing of respectively consultant and contractor architects and engineers in the order of engineers and architects of North-Lebanon; (Our case study is limited to North Lebanon governorate)
Even though the number of 48 distributed questionnaires (with 33 received back ones) appears to be too small for a statistical model analysis, it worth notifying that this number is based on the available local market and selected from the order of engineers and architects of North-Lebanon data book to cover majority of localized engineering firms.
The aid and support of the Order of engineers and Architects of North Lebanon are really essential and of big interest, contributing to further developed quality system ratings for the construction to be developed.

Introduction In design and management of engineering structures in the life-cycle, time indexes have many different forms.
At present application of the nondestructive testing, technology in actual engineering is only a preliminary exploration.
Therefore, it is necessary to establish perfect database and develop nondestructive testing technology in practical engineering application.

So far, the massive research work and engineering application at home and abroad were concentrated on the weld intersecting joints and gusset plate joints with hollow steel tube.
It is recommended that in engineering design, by increasing thickness of gusset plates and setting the loop stiffeners to increase the out-of-plane stiffness and bearing capacity of joint.

Discussion on Mathematical Models of Probabilistic Constraints Calculation in Reliability-Based Design Optimization Ping Yi Department of Civil Engineering, Dalian University of Technology, Dalian, 116024, China yiping@dlut.edu.cn Key words: Reliability-Based Design Optimization; Reliability Index Approach; Performance Measure Approach; The Most Probable Failure Point; The Minimum Performance Target Point Abstract.
This is mainly because the failure probability of an actual engineering structural element or system is far less than 50% and the occurrence of a negative reliability index in engineering is nearly impossible.

While the latter exhibit a better representation of the system behavior, their implementation by the practitioner engineer is rather involved and not easily comprehended.
Moreover, two key factors that an engineer must address when designing a seismic-resistant structure are interstory drift and floor acceleration.
