Abstract.
Recently, Bi2Al4O9 doped with Sr2+ and Ca2+ has been considered as promising candidate for alternative electrolyte materials[3, 6].
In this paper, we report a simple method to synthesize pure Bi2Al4O9 powder by sol-gel process using metal nitrates as raw materials and citric acid as chelating agent with lower calcined temperature.
Analytical reagent grade bismuth nitrate (Bi(NO3)3·5H2O) and aluminium nitrate (Al(NO3)3·9H2O) were used as starting materials, citric acid as chelating agent, and 2-methoxyethanol as the solvent.
