The other studies that used the waste materials in civil infrastructure include marble waste [8–10], sediments [3,6,11–13], recycled concrete aggregates [14,15], and slag [16–19].
This study compares the engineering properties of sediment with natural subgrade soil to check the suitability of using these materials in road construction by comparing the elemental and mechanical properties with Omani standards.
