Moruf et al. stated that both FA and GGBS are pozzolanic materials in accordance with ASTM: C-618 and ASTM: C-989 respectively [4].
Tsakiridis et al. in their research found that hydration of 100% GGBS did not take place due to the presence of wustite (FeO) which is the major mineral phase in slag.
According to Bannet et al. the relationship could be due to filling of pores with binder gel as a result of hydration process [9].
