It is also recognized that thermo-mechanical treatments such as cold deformation before aging treatment is very effective to further improve the mechanical properties of age hardenable Al and Cu alloys [6-8].
Although the benefits of thermo-mechanical treatments were understood extensively in Al and Cu alloys, it has rarely studied in Mg alloys, especially in the age hardening Mg-RE alloys.
