Al- and O- interstitials or vacancies, electron and electron holes as well as protons have been suggested to be the dominating charge carrier in α-Al2O3.
Frederikse et al made dc and ac measurements on polycrystalline Al2O3, where the activation energy was obtained about 2.2 eV in the temperature range 1000 to 1200°C, and the major charge carrier was suggested to be Al ions [15].
The activation energy of about 2.0 - 2.4 eV obtained for the fine-grained Al2O3 samples in this work is comparable to the value obtained by Frederikse et al[15].
The activation energy 1.5 eV obtained for the single crystal sample in this study is also comparable to literature value obtained by Tallan et al[18].

A variety of parametric studies utilizing the finite element analysis (FEA) have been performed by Kim et al in order to predict the mechanical behavior(ultimate strength) of single shear bolted joints in cold-formed(thin-walled) stainless steel.
Kuwamura et al. [5, 6] had conducted experimental research about ultimate behaviors of cold-formed 304 stainless steel shear bolted connections with plane plate.
Proposed equations by Kuwamura et al. tended to overestimate ultimate strength of bolted connections due to no sufficient consideration of strength reduction by curling.
Recently, Kim et al.[7, 8] have also performed the experimental and numerical studies on the influence of curling on ultimate strength of single shear bolted connections with 3.0mm thick plate and extended variables in order to estimate quantitatively the strength reduction ratio caused by curling.

Oguzie et al. [53] and Umoren et al. [10] reported similar results on inhibitor adsorption onto mild steel surfaces in acidic environments (H2SO4 and HCl, respectively).
This result closely aligns with the molecular dynamic investigations on the adsorption mechanism of corrosion inhibitors described by Mendonça et al. [43] and Chkirate et al. [7].

Materials and Methods The reactants used to prepare Al2O3-ZrO2 (AlxZr1-xO2 with x = 0.1 and x = 0.5 mol de Al3+) were: zirconium n-propoxide (Zr(O(CH2)2CH3)4) from Aldrich, glycol ethylene (HOCH2CH2OH) from Merck, citric acid (H3C6H5O7) from Reagen, aluminum nitrate (Al(NO3)3.9H2O) from Aldrich and nitric acid (HNO3) from Vetec.
The impregnation and sulphation methodology is described elsewhere by Costa el al. [7].
The presence of these two phases also was observed by Kikkawa et al. [10] when prepare pure zirconia by sol-gel method at 1200 o C.
According to Carreño et al. [12] the catalytic efficiency of a material is favored with increase of the specific surface area, SBET, and consequently decreasing in the particle size.
Crystalline powders, with tetragonal ZrO2 structure, were obtained after calcinations at 9000C, with incorporation of Al 3+ in the net structure of zirconia.
