Comparing the data in Figs.2(a) and 2(b), we find that the metal contact resistance with the carbon paper increased after polishing except for the A36 steel.

Detailed data of the yield stress, ultimate tensile strength and elongation as a function of stain rate are shown in Fig. 3.
It is found that δi decreases generally with the reduction in strain rate, whereas the values of δu are approximately equal to each other at the three strain rates of 1.0×10-2, 1.0×10-3 and 1.0×10-4 s-1, except for an obvious decrease in δu at 1.0×10-5 s-1.
