In light of the earlier works, the role of P in the presence of Ge in the Sn-Cu-Ni system will be revisited to confirm the nature of oxidation products and provide further insights regarding the distribution of trace elements such as P in the alloy’s dross and its associated intermetallic compounds, especially, through the use of high resolution Synchrotron X-ray source and advanced microscopy techniques.
