This mechanism is probably for a part responsible of the radiation induced reduction
observed of many oxides [28].
In oxides a fairly large amount of data is available on i) stimulated annealing of radiation damage in oxides under inelastic losses, in Al2O3 and MgO for example under proton irradiation [37], ii) radiation enhanced metallic colloids formation, in electron irradiated MgO containing iron or nickel [38] iii) ionization preventing amorphization under highenergy heavy ion irradiation [39], iv) concurrent electron and heavy ion irradiations lowering the nucleation rate of dislocation loops but enhancing the growth, in the Al2O3/MgO system [40].
The simple theory above predicts a reduction of the activation energy by a factor of two with respect to the sole migration term of the slowest defect, which here is expected to be of the order of 3.7eV [66].
This effect is generally thought to be due to the non silica part of the glass and associated with metal-oxygen bond breaking and reduction of metal ions; the metallic ions and the oxygen, atomic and/or molecular, are supposed to migrate easily in the remaining glass and cluster.

The XRD results revealed a reduction of crystallinity with an increase in filler content, thus indicating that the composites are semi crystalline in nature.
XRD data revealed that fly ash existed in mullite phases (JCPDS file no 15-0776).

The reported advantages of MIs include simplification of orthodontic treatment, elimination of inter-arch mechanics for correcting sagittal discrepancies, reduction of treatment time, and the ability to move entire quadrants rather than individual teeth in orthodontic clinical practices [7- 11,14].

The velocity of the flow and its rheological nature are essential parameters for the reduction of instability in the canal.

The replacement of NA with SSA has increased density, stability and flow values and reduction in air voids for the HMA specimens cast and tested.
A matured co-precipitation method was used for improving the Fe3O4 content on the surface of steel slag, for the comparison of the data obtained in a numerical model, to satisfy the performance requirements of the pavement engineering.

Despite the
large reduction in σc and Kc, Fig. 11 shows that the flexural strength did not significantly change
with increasing volume fractions of porosity, and actually increased as the volume fraction of
porosity in the thin compressive layers was > 0.40.
For a normalized off-set separation distance of 1.4 (not shown) the two cracks did not coalescence, yet these specimens did exhibit a reduction in threshold strength as reported in Fig. 14.
Observations, such as the one shown in Fig. 14 indicates that their separating compressive layer did stop the cracks before they further extended to coalesce as predicted by the FE studies. 200 μm indent crack Fig. 14 Reduction of threshold strength when two cracks are introduced into adjacent thick layers, separated by an off-set distance, x.
As shown in Fig. 14, for normalized off-set values < 1, the normalized threshold strength is approximately 0.7; this data shows that when the off-set value produces strongly interactive cracks, the threshold strength is reduced by the inverse square root of the number of interacting cracks within adjacent thick layers.

This characteristic facilitates the reduction of heat transmission through building components, therefore helping to energy conservation in the processes of heating and cooling[3].
The inherent lightness of FC leads to a reduction in the total weight of the construction, therefore inducing cost savings on the foundation and structural support systems.
This has the potential to result in substantial reductions in both material and labor expenses.

This is in agreement with the prediction of Derjaguin, Landau, Verwey and Overbeek (DLVO) theory: a reduction in the repulsion forces between NPs due to the compression of the electrostatic double layer at higher ionic strength leads to more aggregation.
This could be due to a reduction in aggregation produced by surface coating.
Current data do not allow a clear explanation for these results.
