Recycling of natural fibres (NF) by incorporating them into composites to manufacture renewable and biodegradable materials has drawn considerable attention as a biodegradable reinforcing material [6,7] and can help in waste reduction and reduce the cost of the composites developed [8].
These data indicated that all DPF modified composite samples showed significant resistance against both brown and white rot fungi used in this trial when compared to the control solid wood samples (Pinus sylvestris) Figures 3 and 4.
The obtained data revealed an increasing in the mass loss percentages by the addition of DPF.

Stress concentration factors calculated by finite element model analysis were found to be higher than those interpolated from the experimental data.

In another series of tests conducted by the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency, several different types of steel moment resisting connections were first subjected to a blast then loaded in catenary mode to determine their residual strength ([69]).
