The Tribological Properties of Several PTFE based self-lubricating composites in vacuum Jun Zhenga, Hui Zhoub, Zhihua Wanc, and Ruipeng Sangd Science and Technology on Surface Engineering Laboratory, Lanzhou Institute of Physics, Lanzhou 730000, P.R.China azhengj1983@163.com, bzhouhui510@sina.com, cwzh510@sina.com.cn, dsrpkk@163.com Keywords: PTFE based self-lubricating composites.
Introduction Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has several applications in different industrial areas as a self-lubricating material due to its very low friction coefficient, excellent thermal stability and corrosion resistance [1-2].
Some carbon or glass-filled acetal and fibre-reinforced and filled PTFE are commonly specified for low-precision gears, some PTFE/chopped glass/MoS2 composite is used as a cage material for bearings [15-16].
