The US Army Materials and Mechanics Research Center, with the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Syracuse University, held the 28 th Sagamore Conference at Lake Placid because the Sagamore resort on Lake George in the Adirondacks was being renovated.
One is that materials problems arose in proximity to neutron expertise.
A third factor is that the field of materials science was conceived from its beginnings as an interdisciplinary field.
As a result, the field of neutron stress measurement has been a model of interdisciplinary development, bringing together workers from areas such as neutron science, solid state physics, theoretical physics, civil engineering, materials science, and theoretical mechanics.

After 24 h, the dye sensitized nanometer TiO2 photo anode materials for solar cell was formed.
