For this purpose knowledge of product development (study of material strength, thermal physics, mechanics of a deformed solid body et al) is to be integrated with scientific advances of material science.
We hope, that methods of layer-by-layer synthesis of product-composites developed in this direction (selective laser sintering of powders, especially), ion implantation of surface layer, selective surfacing with nano-powders and composite coating can advance solution of this problem soon.
