Kono et al. [1] found that the residual stresses increase with the cutting speed, but does not change
monotonically with the depth of cut in hard turning.
Matsumoto et al. [3], studied the effect of several cutting parameters on the in-depth residual stress profile on case-carburised bearing steel (58.62 HRC) turned with CBN tools.
Matsumoto et al. [6] and Wu and Matsumoto [7] concluded that material hardness has a significant effect on the residual stress pattern that remains in the machined part.
In the coated tool the physical vapor deposition (PVD) tool coatings employed were TiN/(Ti,Al)N/Ti(C,N).

Ghaei et al. [2] studied the effect of die shape on deformation pattern, pressure distribution and the position of neutral plane in both cases: with mandrel and without it and found that dies with hybrid surfaces gave more control on the process and can make the process more cost-effective.
Rong et al. [3] simulated the effect of axial feeding velocity on strain field of rotary swaged pure magnesium using coupled thermal-mechanical FEM and suggested that the axial velocity should be maximized to improve the production efficiency under the precondition that the required surface roughness was met.
Abdulstaar et al. [6] investigated the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of rotary swaged pure aluminum and found that after heavy swaging the microstructure was quite uniform normal to flow direction and the yield stress and tensile strength of the material was strongly increased.
Li et al. [7] presented a simulation and experimental study on the formation characteristics of sinking thin-walled copper tube with axially inner micro grooves and described some defects in the rotary swaged products.

Omar et al [4] proposed an improved cutting force and surface topography prediction model in end milling.
To solve these problems, Fan et al [1] proposed an error compensation method based on the Newton interpolation.
