Simultaneous Removal of Iron, Manganese and Ammonia from Groundwater in Single Biofilter Layer Using BAF Jinxiang Fu1,a, Jun Shang1,a, Yuhua Zhao1 1School of Municipal and Environmental Engineering, Shenyang Jianzhu University.
Ceramic bead was selected to be the filter media, with the depth of 1.6m, consisted of two layers (same level depth) varied in size, for the benefit of efficient dissolved oxygen transfer.
Also high efficiency of manganese removal by the mature bio-ceramic filter layer were observed during this period, when the manganese inlet concentrations were above 4mg/l, even more than 5mg/l.
