Storage aging, curing and cooling as well as the temperature gradient generated by the aerodynamic heating in the flight test phase and the press in the interface of thermal barrier and shell that produced by the internal pressure in the engine combustion process will cause the interface debonding failure; The insulation layer surface cleans not completely before the lining spraying, lining and insulation material chemical compatibility is bad and storage aging can cause debonding between the insulation layer and the lining[1]; Meanwhile, storage aging or excessive stresses generated in the storage process, plasticizer migration to lining, binder penetration will cause propellant and liner bonding interface bonding become weak or even destroy[2]; Due to the insulation layer is often two-or multi-layer structure, the layers of the insulation materials are not strong bonding and the insufficient curing pressure will cause the debonding between layers.
The most important feature of the microwave detection is able to penetrate a variety of non-metallic materials which sound attenuation is very big, it is especially suitable for the engine insulation material detection.
Industrial CT also has a very high density resolution, it can check out the materials of extremely subtle changes in density, it is able to complete the full range of detection of various defects for the entire solid rocket motor, especially in solid, star hole and internal gear shaped detection effect is very good.
