The crack of mode I spread always occurred in brittle materials and it is the most dangerous, so
crack mode I is always taken account.
Griffith declared that the fracture is due to the spreading of crack when he studied the fracture of brittle materials like glass and ceramics.
Obviously when stress σ is up to σF, the crack will propagate to result to brittle fracture, and there is so called Griffith's criterion of brittle fracture of materials.
In addition there is a large temperature grad under the working conditions, and its have effect on the parameters of materials and the boundary exertion.
