Because silicon carbide ceramics are brittle materials with high hardness, during the grinding process the abrasive scratch action makes the lateral cracks in the subsurface of scratch.
The maximum depth of sub-surface crack size directly affects the performance of the material.

The indirect method is by measuring physical quantities related to the water (e.g., the conductivity material, capacitors, etc.), to detect the corresponding measured moisture content of the material, this method is generally fast, easy to achieve on line detection.
