According to the research of Lian Jijian, Yang Min and An Gang etc scholars[1], the slabs of inverted arch plunge pool are much more stable than those of flat-bottomed plunge pool.
Fig.3 The transverse profile of plunge pool impact area According to Tian Zhong’s research[8], when < 30, jet maximum velocity of profile sharply attenuates as jet flow path x increases, and its impact energy account for initial energy sharply reduced, when >30, the changes of velocity and impact pressure tends to slow as x increases, when > 80 , submerged jets impact pressure can be ignored.
