However, when it comes to monitor typical civil engineering buildings like masonry or reinforced concrete structures, such simple, localized 'cuts' usually do not occur ([10]).
Thus the main subject of structural health monitoring for civil engineering structures is to monitor changes in their stiffness distributions using methods belonging rather to the finite element update techniques ([2]) than to the classic damage detection procedures.
An extended numerical analysis including the effect of measuring noise and covering various beam and frame types, as well as specific situations met in civil engineering (e.g. plastic hinge developments for reinforced concrete structures) has been recently carried out by the authors of this paper ([9]).

UNASCERTAINED AVERAGE CLUSTERING ANALYSIS ON SMA MIXTURE RATIO DESIGN Changping Wen1,a, Liang Zhao1,b 1College of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, Central South University of Forestry and Technology, Changsha, China aurbanwen@163.com,b444082942@qq.com Keywords: SMA; ratio design; unascertained average clustering analysis Abstract: Based on unascertained mathematical theory, the unascertained average clustering model (UACM) is established in the ratio design of stone matrix asphalt (SMA).
The study shows that UACM has strong applicability; the results meet the engineering requirements, and can be provided a new way of SMA mixture ratio design in practical engineering.
