Thermodynamic analysis on the precipitation of crystalline phase from LF slag during cooling process Ningning Lv 1, a, Chang Su 1, b, Jingkun Yu 1, c 1 School of Materials and Metallurgy, Northeastern University, Shenyang, 110004, China alvning198565@163.com, bsuchang_9@yahoo.cn, cjingkunyu@yahoo.com Keywords: Waste slag, Slag phase, Precipitation, Thermodynamic analysis Abstract: The precipitation of crystalline phase from LF slag during cooling process was discussed according to the thermodynamic analysis by using CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 system.
In which, reusing the waste slag as raw materials in metallurgical industry could be considered an efficient measure, because some chemical compositions such as CaO, SiO2, A12O3 and MgO contained in the waste slag could be especially useful for the metallurgical process [1].
At present, calcium-aluminate system is often used as slag materials for LF refinement, and which consists chiefly of CaO, SiO2, and A12O3.
