Conclusion The use of materials with a low coefficient of linear expansion is justified from the standpoint of reducing shell mold stress-strain state, and to increase the shell mold crack resistance and provide for possibility of filling the mold with liquid metal without a backing filler, it is recommended to form the layer adjacent to the outer shell layer using materials with physical properties other than that of the materials of the rest shell mold layers.

Conventional metal material has smaller damping and less energy consumption, therefore constructional elements which are made of these material will radiate strong noise due to the vibration force. It will solve the problem if use high molecular material or the damping property of metal material, because damping materials can reduce much more noise than the general materials in the same forces.C.L.
Luo[14] invented a kind of metal plastic composite materials including 45# steel and nylon 66.Experiments showed that its amplitude and natural frequency dropped and damping ratio increased in the same order modal. In his book,M.

Different kinds of researches reveal that the material intrinsic length is determined by many factors, including materials (e.g. metal, rock, concrete, and clay), material properties (e.g. shear modulus, yield strength, and hardness), material microstructure (e.g.
After natural drying and sieving (diameter<0.075) of clay collected from Tianhe District of Guangzhou the clay is used as matrix materials in this study.
The basic physical properties of materials are shown as Table 1

Research on the Methods of Determination of Characteristic Strength of Brittle Rock materials in Compression Test Bin WANG 1, a, Jie-bing ZHU 1,b , Ai-qing WU 1,c 1 Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute,Wuhan, 430010,China acugwangbin@163.com, bzhujb@vip.163.com, cwuaiqing@vip.sina.com Keywords: Brittle rock; crack closure; crack initiation; crack damage strength; damage threshold Abstract: The failure of rock materials in compression test suffers three characteristic stages: crack initiation, crack damage threshold, and macro-failure.
The AE monitoring method and the lateral P-wave or the axial S-wave test is an effective indicative of identifying the damage threshold when subject an axial compression failure. 1 Introduction Due to the long-term effects of various external loading and environmental actions, Rock materials internally exist a variety of defects such as micro-cracks, cavities, joints and so on.
