Carbonation of cementitious materials results in a reduction of the pH value which makes the material less alkaline and leads to unsightly spalling on structures.
It is indicated that the effects of carbonation-induced corrosion on the damping capacity for engineering materials and structures are absolutely essential.

The choice of similar materials and the design of mix proportions is a key step in landslide model test.
On the basis of experiment, we conduct a research for the similar materials which may sufficing volume weight, cohesive force, angle of internal friction, deformation modulus, and the infiltration coefficient on the same time.
Based on the predecessors' experience ,this paper conducts an exploration research on the new mix proportion of similar materials which satisfy the similarity of the deformation, destruction, and infiltration ( i.e, volume weight, deformation modulus, cohesive force, angle of internal friction and infiltration coefficient are all similar) to meet the practical landslide model test requirements. 2 Choices of Similar Materials and Schemes of Mix Proportion The landslide model test is based on the similarity between model and prototype.
According to the principles above and the overall requirements of the landslide similar materials, which is a kind of high volume weight, low cohesive force, low deformation modulus, low infiltration coefficient and the right angle of internal friction granular materials, I successively explores two sets of similar material test plan. 3 The First Set of Similar Material Test Plan The first kind of similar material is the mix of high-strength glass micro beads and talcum powder. 3.1 Physical Properties of the Similar Material High-strength glass micro beads are the primary counterweight material.

Introduction
Materials of an ultrafine-grained and nanometric structure exhibit mechanical properties that often surpass those of conventionally obtained materials having phases or grain structures on a micrometric scale.
The severe plastic deformation processes cause a significant impact on the structure and the properties of materials.

The properties of the alternative building wall materials are identified and compared with that of conventional bricks.
Availability of alternative building materials.
The materials were properly weathered and their properties were studied with the help of literature reviews (Annexure-I).
Additionally, the block is produced using locally available materials and resources, and is therefore socio-economically feasible.
