Introduction
The demand for materials with keeps good mechanical properties at high temperatures is increasing in the aerospace industry.
Currently, the dominant materials in the hot zone of aeronautical turbines are metallic superalloys that withstand temperatures above 1000 ºC [1].
Among Ceramic Matrix Composite Materials (CMCs), those with a silicon carbide (SiC) matrix are the most used for the manufacture of aeronautical engines [5].

The main problem is that these materials
are very reactive and may undergo environmentally induced degradation during service.

The interaction of these shock waves with thickened boundary layers will cause larger flow separation zones that are responsible for considerable loss of mass flow, total pressure and several other effects, such as shock movement and higher surface heat flux into the structural materials of the engine.
