Based on aluminum powder, Silicon powder, activated alumina and flake graphite as the main starting materials, SiAlON-Graphite composites were produced in N2 atmosphere.
Experiments Starting materials such as aluminum powder, silicon powder, activated alumina and flake graphite were used in the experiment.
The chemical compositions of all materials are shown in Table 1.
Raw Materials for the synthesis of β-SiAlON phase were fully mixed for 20 minutes and then for another 5 minutes after the addition of graphite and temporary binder.

The plastic resinous material discharged into an opening 7, is pressed into a cavity 12 by self-weight.
Then by the friction between the resinous material and the wall of the rotor 1, the plastic resinous material rotates with high velocity.
So the plastic resinous material is pressed to the wall of the rotor 1 by the centrifugal force.
Here, it needs to explain that in this time the plastic resinous material has been the solid-plug form.

However, MMCs are extremely difficult to machine (turning, milling, drilling, threading) due to the addition of reinforcing materials, which are normally harder and stiffer than the matrix.
The appropriate cutting parameters in machining these materials with high efficiency and quality have been obtained.
