Based on the unique characters of plant
structure, scientists make them as bio-templates to produce advanced ceramic materials[2].
Highly porous SiC ceramic with a wood-like microstructure was prepared at 1600°C for 4-8 h in a static argon atmosphere by sol-gel and carbothermal reduction techniques using TEOS and oak wood as the starting materials.
But few people attempted to prepare the porous materials with wood templates in the molten salt synthesis (MSS) method.
