Materials and properties FRP-PP honeycomb sandwich specimens were fabricated from the following materials: the low temperature curing epoxy resin with a specific gravity of 1.14 at 25°C, a solvent based high temperature curing hardener, accelerator (Tertiary Amine) supplied by ROTO polymers of Chennai, the glass fibers of density 2.50g/cm3, supplied by SUNTECH Fibers of Chennai and the visco-elastic Polypropylene honeycomb core material which has the excellent characteristics of high strength-to-weight ratio, energy and sound absorption, corrosion, fungi, rot, chemical, moisture resistance, etc, supplied by M/s Good fellow Cambridge limited of London.
