He investigated the fatigue behaviour of materials under constant loading amplitude regime.
Fatigue damage in materials can be classified into two broad categories, namely crack initiation and crack propagation.
The damage variable D has a value of 0 for virgin material and 1 (or less than 1) for completely damaged material.
