The result is identical with linear elastic fracture mechanics of brittle materials and the compressive strength is 1120 MPa and the elastic modulus is .
Material of tool tip and uncut material are both affected.
It can be observed from Fig. 2(c) that there are many micro-cracks accumulating and several long macro-cracks propagating into the front material and material interior.
