The raw materials include mainly ferrosilicon (FeSi) and dolime.
Fluorite is often mixed together with the two materials in a range of 2-3% to catalyze the MgO reduction.
Dolime, with a mass near to 80% of the raw materials, contains only MgO of around 30%, which enhances quantities of process waste, the Mg slag.
Mass percent values for the slag samples in Table 1 were adopted as weights in grams of raw materials for the FactSage simulations.

Abstract.
Introduction In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for high-temperature structural materials for gas turbines.
The MoSi2/Mo5Si3 eutectic alloy is one of the promising candidates for such materials to surpass the traditional Ni-based superalloys [1].
This study was partly supported by the Center for Computational Materials Science, Institute for Materials Research, Tohoku University, the Cyber Science Center, Tohoku University, and JSPS KAKENHI Grant Numbers JP18H01735.
