In the literature of material science we are not aware of the synthesis and characterization of SAP with polyacrylic acid/XG/bentonite where the entire polymerization process was carried out in a complete aqueous environment. Therefore, we paid attention to the synthesis and characterization of polymeric superabsorbents by introducing XG and bentonite in polyacrylic acid solution through chemical crosslinking by a polymerization technique using N,N’-methylenebisacrylamide as a crosslinker and ammonium persulfate as an initiator in a complete aqueous environment.
Materials and Methods Synthesis of Polyacrylic Acid/XG/ Bentonite superabsorbent Polymer Acrylic acid (AA, analytical grade) was commercially purchased from Dongfang Chemical Plant, Beijing, China.
The dried material was pulverized into particles and screened through a 200-mesh screen.
