Abstract: The aim of this experiment was to determine the responses of reed canary grass (Phalaris arundinacea L.) to salt stress during germination and vegetative growth.
Materials and methods Seeds of reed canary grass (Zxy06p-2449 and Zxy06p-2653) origin from Russia, respectively, and the seeds of reed canary were obtained from Gao hongwen group (Institute of Animal Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences).
On the other hand, CAT activities of both materials in 10 d were found to be slightly (P<0.05) up-regulated in response to salt stress, but down-regulated after long-term(15d) treatment .
The results of two materials were very similar, Increasing magnitude of salinity stress increased the amount of electrolyte leakage from the leaves of Zxy06p-2449 and Zxy06p-2653.
