Structural Optimization Design for Metal Honeycomb Used in Continuous Waste Heat Recovery Ling Ren1,2,a, Yu Hu1,b and Dehong Xia1,2,c 1School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, PRC 100083 2Beijing Key Laboratory for Energy Saving and Emission Reduction of Metallurgical Industry, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing, PRC 100083 arenl@me.ustb.edu.cn, bhuyu860503@sina.com, cxia@me.ustb.edu.cn Keywords: Waste Heat Recovery, Heat Exchanger, Metal Honeycomb, Orthogonal Experiment.
By analyzing and summarizing the advantages and disadvantage of various surface extension techniques for heat transfer enhancement[3-6], the metal honeycomb is developed by our research group, as is depicted in Fig.1, which is a kind of porous metal material easy to adjust its specific surface area, excellent in heat conduction and flexible in geometrical transformation.
Therefore, the Nusselt number Nu and heat transfer per flow volume Q0, directly reflecting the heat transfer capability of the material, are taken as the investigation indices in the orthogonal experiments.

For example, during the process of rural infrastructure construction such as country road and irrigation facilities, the rural economic growth can be accelerated by inputting factors of production like material, equipment, capital and labor; employment opportunities and income of farmers can also be increased.
