The equivalent stress vs. equivalent strain curves obtained by in the present study (Fig. 2) do not differ appreciably from that observed in other similar materials, like AZ31 or ZM21 [9,11], even though lower strain to fracture are frequently observed (Fig. 3).

Characteristics of Thermal Performance in High Power LED Package with Heat Pipe Woong Joon Hwang, Hwa Jun Yeo, and Moo Whan Shina Department of Materials Science & Engineering, Myong Ji University, 38-2 Nam-Dong, Yongin 449-728, Korea a Corresponding author: mwshin@mju.ac.kr Keywords: HPLED, sintered wick heat pipe (SWHP), thermal resistance, thermal transient Abstract.
For improving thermal performance of HPLED packaging materials with high thermal conductivity and packaging schemes for effective thermal dissipation are required [3].
The heating block materials, copper (Cu : 400 W/m·K) and phosphor bronze (P/B : 69 W/m·K), have different thermal conductivities.
We confirmed that main thermal path is the outward dissipation through slug and SWHP, mostly carried out by conduction, and that the interface of multi-layer package and the thermal conductivity of material are very important factors in package thermal design.
