2.1 STUDY AREA
Songyuan irrigated district is in west Jilin Province, with an area of approximately 3400km2, irrigated area of about 1900km2 (Fig.1), the longitude and latitude coordinates is 114°30′51″~115°35′54″, 44°45′11″~44°22′22″.The study area is one of the arid and semi-arid regions in China where the Songhua River entries from its southeastern part.
The formation factors of soil salinization architecture[4-7] (Fig.2) shows that geological factors of geological tectonic pattern, soil parent material, hydrological factors of underground (surface) runoff and meteorological factors of precipitation, freezing and thawing are not adjustable factors; However, evaporation, one of the meteorological factors which can influence the soil salinity, can be regulated to some extent.

The practices indicate that end-plate connections used in steel portal frame is the most economic design because it can save materials and avoid field welding, and are widely used now.
